July 19, 2016. AIMS Metrology, in collaboration with FASTLANE, an Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership affiliate of the University of Dayton Research Institute and SK Mold and Tool, has been awarded a $100,000 grant to develop new vision and image recognition technology for its coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). With the new camera system, CMM operators will be able to build probe configurations with a higher degree of reliability. CMM set-up time is also expected to be reduced from 30 minutes to 3 minutes per part, saving manufacturers approximately two hours per shift.

June 3, 2016. AIMS Metrology will feature coordinate measuring machines engineered to raise throughput and reduce operation costs while maintaining submicron accuracy at IMTS 2016, Booth # E-5836. The OEM manufactures, assembles and ships its machines from its recently expanded Dayton, Ohio facility and provides comprehensive service support. AIMS will demonstrate its Revolution LM series which employs linear motors with a Renishaw REVO 5-axis scanning system. AIMS also recently introduced its Revolution Series HB Shop Floor CMMs. Designed and built around Renishaw 5-axis technology, the Revolution HB is the only mobile 5-axis CMM on the market. Both models are especially suited to the needs of the automotive, aerospace and medical markets.

February 17, 2016. ABLE Machine Tool Sales Inc., is the New England distributor for Dayton, Ohio-based Advanced Industrial Measurement Systems’ (AIMS) Revolution Series coordinate measuring machines.  Designed and engineered with Renishaw 5-axis measurement technology, AIMS introduced its new product line in 2015.

How to Increase Throughput and Accuracy using 5-Axis Technology

Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) have long been the backbone of the quality Department, with the reliability and reproducibility it affords the users.  While the long established probing systems have been the workhorse of the measurement system, the CMM has evolved into a faster, more rigid platform.

Many Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) in operation today are obsolete with respect to the needs of today’s quality requirements, according to Dave Delph, President of Advanced Industrial Measurement Systems (AIMS).

A local equipment manufacturer is investing $1 million to launch its own line of machines with plans to double revenue in three years.

Miamisburg-based Advanced Industrial Measurement Systems will begin taking orders this fall for the first several models of its own brand of coordinate measurement machines. Also known as CMMs, the machines are used for measurement and inspection by the manufacturing industry.
